2011
After seeing the damage caused by the UK riots, SHIMM1 was compelled to ‘do his bit’ and is planning to release his new single called “Both Sides” inspired by ‘Phil Collins’ 80′s record; ‘Both Sides Of The Story’. The aim is to raise £100k for Barnardos and challenge the XFactor to the Xmas No.1 spot.
SHIMM1 makes his first return to music by wowing judges at the Open Mic UK 2011 Grand Final at the 02 in London in January 2011.
2008 – 2011
SHIMM1 takes a hiatus from the spotlight as a performing/recording artist to explore other interests.
2007
Won ‘Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award’ (ACBF).
Founded and produced ‘The Main Event’ (TME) festival with support from the Arts Council.
Featured in ‘Music Week’ & ‘Computer Arts’ magazine.
Interviewed for the ‘Phillip Siddiq Show’ via satellite in Los Angeles.
Directed ‘It’s Over’ music video, which was shortlisted for a ‘Cinem@tic Award’
Released the singles & videos: ‘It’s Over’ & ‘Stereo’ to rave reviews.
2006
Signed a 1 year licensing deal with Halo Records.
Directed ‘Get This’ music video which featured on MTV Base’s ‘Spanking New’ section.
Directed ‘Party’ music video which had an all-star cameo cast incl. Sharleen Spiteri & Craig David .
Released ‘You Get Me’ & ‘Party/Get This’ via Halo Records.
‘The Silencer LP’ was digitally released via Halo Records.
Performed 4 times at Artsfest, Birmingham and featured in all regional press.

Beat competition from 1000 bands to perform to 30000 people for BRMB Radio at Cannon Hill Park. (‘Party In The Park’).
Directed ‘Up Your Game’ music video which cameo’d Olympic Gold Medallist – Mark Lewis Francis.
Released ‘Up Your Game’ as a white label.

Performed on ITV’s ‘Music Uncovered’. (TV program).
Co-Directed ‘You Get Me’ music video which cameo’d U.S. Mogul – Damon Dash.
Full page feature in ‘Heat’ magazine.

Produced a tour of schools in the Midlands to raise awareness for Sickle Cell.
